Northumbrian Winds

m.facebook.com/Northumbrian.Winds/

Northumbrian Winds first met in January 2023, when Andy Taylor our conductor brought together a group of musicians from across the North East of England. The intention was to create a project band for a German tour in September 2023, meeting on a monthly basis. The highlight of that tour was to play in Köln Cathedral.
Frienships were born and working with musicians from Germany and Switzerland was indeed proof that Music Connects. The project, as a whole, was a great success and the decision was made that this was far too great an opportunity to have a limited life and to continue with the same successful formula. The highlight of 2024 was playing at Hexham Abbey.
In October 2025, Northumbrian Wind will return to Germany for a further tour.

We are a concert band based in Rosyth.  As a community wind band we welcome musicians of all standards.  Our only stipulation is that members are over the age of 9 years.
Our emphasis is on having fun with music.  We see a rehearsal not only as an opportunity to play music but also a way to meet up with other people with a similar interest.  If you play a wind band instrument, or did so in the past and it’s now lying in the attic gathering dust, come and join us.
We often support other organisations in their fundraising by playing concerts for them.  So if you are an event organiser looking for a band feel free to contact us and we can discuss options.
